<p>Very much agreed. &nbsp;In my experience as an instructor and administrator, I've found that openly expressing my concern for students has sometimes made all the difference for them. &nbsp;I think sometimes a complement ("you did really well on this homework assignment!") or expressed empathy ("you look kind of down today, is everything all right?") really helps us connect to why we value our place in education.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
