In mannaging an elearning environment, you must take care to address personality types that may cause disruptions to discussions or activities, or do not show the time management or initiative needed to complete successfully. Learner questions can be addressed through forums or emails, and may also be answered by other learners as well as the instructor. Deliberately disruptive behavior, or behaviors outside of the behavioral code, must be addressed to ensure a positive and efficient learning environment.

I've learned that synchronous discussions can be best managed by setting a convenient time and duration for learners that may be geographically disbursed, setting a time for socializing at the beginning and end, breaking topics into shorter segments to allow  participation and formulate responses, and limiting the sessions to five or six participants. 

I learned that providing a bio of your credentials, experience, and accomplishments can help students engage with you. You can also help students to engage with each other through discusssion boards of the course content, and discussion forums of nonn-content-related topics.  This helps learners in similar locales connect with each other.  You can also answer questions about the course, being careful not to use the enquirer's name without their permission.  I will be sure my online courses contain rich discussion and conversation forums, a listing of office hours where I can be available to answer their questions in real time,… >>>

It is critical to be familiar with the course structure and all learning components within it. Going forward, I will survey and study a new course before teaching it, ensuring my technology can manage and operate it, I am familiar with the content and how it is to be delivered, and that I know how the discussions, activities and grade book work. This way, I can be confident in teaching the course and ensure I can help my learners through any challenges they may encounter.

Just about any activities that take place in a classrom are suitable for online learning, using forums and discussion boards, email and chat, and pre-prepared interactive or audio-video presentations, as well as assessment and grading.

 

I learned the objectives for the course, and that online courses need to be navigable, interactive, and engaging. I could not access any of the Flash player content.

 

Because people learn by trial and error, observation or by doing, content is best presented using several types of lectures. Expository lectures can present foundational facts and concepts, but may bore and disengage students. Interactive lectures allow them to brainstorm as you help to organize their thoughts. Problem-solving and case study lectures work well for advanced students to access higher levels of learning, and all lecture types may be combined. Coducting the first session of a class well sets the tone for the rest of the course sessions. Before your first meeting, you should arrive early to check the room and equipment are in order and write the course name and number as well as your name on the board.  Greet students as they arrive and take attendance promptly at start time. Teh five steps in creating a new course are to select content, set ambitious bt realistic goals, write strong objectives and a compehensive syllabus, and select the best presentation format.
