Activity

In a classroom situation with a mixture of students, it is helpful to put different age groups in groups together.  Much knowledge can be shared in that situation.

I have learned to not take anything or granted and to look beyond face value. It is important to listen and observe.

It is mentioned that it is the responsibility of the instructor with students of diverse backgrounds in diverse settings to bring students to a level of sophistication. I am taken back by this. What do you mean by that? What group of people are you refering to? It is mentioned at one point that each person has something to offer and can be shared. I am confused.

I have taught all grades from K - 12, to graduate school. I find the latter the most rewarding. I am able to be more myself. Perhaps it is because of the commonality of age in most cases. But more so, we share life experiences.

I am always prepared, sometimes over prepared because I want to be sure the students are getting what is being presented. I usually have content left over which helps with the next session. Sometimes, I feel pressed to get it all in, and have to refrain from trying to squeeze stuff in. What I have… >>>

I will spend more time working through the methods of using different learning style, lecture and delivery types.

Planning is essential to having a good session. Varying lecture and delivery types help to be sure each student is engaged and subsequently learning and or increasing their knowledge. If a student sees that a lesson is well planned out, they will be excited about the process and look forward to the next session.

Get to know your students names and little about them. Tell students about your experience. Try to create a relaxed atmosphere by letting students what to expect.

Planning is essential in getting the course on course to the desired end. Try to access the learning abilities of the students in the first few sessions.

I intend to lead by example and stay current.
