Gina, Great. I find shorter videos actiually help keep attention better thatn lengthier videos. Passively watching without doing can lead to mental distraction and loss of focus. Preparing questions to answerd afterwards is one way to keep students focused on the information in the videos. Barry Westling

Using pretests as planning tools

Tricia , For me, if I'm relying heavy on the textbook and it contains a pretest, then I'll use it. But if I want to assess the students prior learning thorougly and in preparation for my class, my own pretest does a better job because I can customize the assessment to suit my areas nof assessment in ways most textbooks cannot. Role of instructor personality in delivery selection

Tricia , Students do often emulate their instructors habits, especially when credibility and respect towards the instructor are high. Displaying the best of all of the good attributes students should possess can set an example for students to follow. Making field trips and guest speakers a part of instruction

Tricia , It's true that even the instructor can receive benefit from information or visitation during a field trip. Often, state of the art business is occuring and the portions viewed and discussed can trigger questions from the students and help keep the instructor aware of new or current operations. For me, these can be motivational and inspire students. Barry Westling
