Current material and information has to be introduced to stay informed with the evolutionary process. I think professional journals, and profession-specific websites provide a great resource for keeping up with times. Cindy, Yes, as in many professions, the tasks that are taught are based on the principles to improve something (or prevent something). Getting students to be thinkers and problem solvers brings a higher functioning individual to the employer. Barry Westling

Eric, I think there are levels. At a minimum, the knowledge and skills must be provided. Next, soft skills such as attendance, punctuality, and professionalism will be helpful. A higher goal would be to impart critical thinking, problem solving, and the pursuit of life-long learning. Barry Westling
