Activity

Our responsibility extends beyond that of meeting regulatory standards. In the long run, it is crucial to our student's academic journey and chances for success.

Part of fostering confidence in our school involves transparency and factual representation. Otherwise there can be negative consequences

It is important to direct a potential student to the correct resource person to avoid substantial misrepresentaiton

I try to avoid using superlatives when discussing step up schools with a student and recommend that they research the school and make an appointment to see a potential school repp to discuss their standards, placement, and retention rates.

I will give factual represewntations of the school and avoid superlatives.

Bedises the school catalog, what entity can a student be directed to consult as to whether a school they are currently attending accepts transfer credits and which credits are accepted?

It is important for all disclosures and representations to be available and transparent. This helps to foster confidence in an institution

Discussion Comment

I do. I consider it to be an integral part of my responsibility to my schol and my students.

It is interesting how the Triad entities work together to rgulate schools and their compliance to standards

  1. 1.   The state board provides authorization for a school to operate.
  2. 2.   For the US Department of Education to approve federal financial aid for the school’s students, the institution must be Title IV eligible.
  3. 3.   Title IV schools must be accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Department.

Compliance involves doing what one is supposed to do. A culture of compliance is specified by the characteristics and actions of a certain group
