Sahri, I believe most of us in the FA Community have come to prefer the FOTW process for many of the reasons you listed in your response to the forum. The convenience, empowering students, efficiency in the process. etc. Now with the IRS Data Retrieval function more and more aid administrators are embracing the positive aspects of FOTW. Laura, IRS Data Retrieval does not work for all students but it sounds like you have a plan to ensure all students receive the necessary assistance. These types of situations do occur and it is our responsibility as Aid Administrators to ensure our students are taken care of in these situations. Elaine, Citizenship can be difficult, especially if you do not have a lot of eligible alien students. There are many documents with specific requirements. Elaine, As FA Administrators we all hear complaints about the complexity of the process; however, we have to do our best to make students and parents understand why and how this protects the TIV programs. Elizabeth, All good points and many of the other participants in this forum have indicated the same issues. The length of time necessary to get the information back on the Status Letter.
