Ricardo, The situation described above is very difficult to resolve. If the student arrived in the country beyond the required age you can document the entry date; however, without that documentation it is going to be difficult to resolve. All valid entry documents should have the documentation to support the date of entry into the country. It may require some additional effort on the part of the FA Office to resolve. Ricardo, Is that communication verbally or written? I think calling the student over phone is a nice touch; however, it is important to provide them with documentation of what is required to satisfy the Verification Category Selection. Maria, Several other participants have commented on the difficult of obtaining third party statements; however, to adjust ones situation you must collect clear documentation to support the student's request. Maria, The FAFSA on the Web (FOTW) process is a great online process for your students and performing corrections through FA Access may reduce wait times. I agree the IRS data retrieval tool is an excellent way to retrieve the IRS informatin for students and parents that qualify. Sincerely, Chyrl Ayers

Solanch, I beleive many others have made this comment. As an aid administrator you are limited in what you can do in these situations. At times I have been able to speak with the third party and explain the situation and they have changed their mind. You will have to work with the student to resolve or not more forward.
