The best balance for an instructor in an accelerated learning environment is to be informed and curious. Being knowledgeable makes the classroom steady. Being curious makes the topic seem like something of a fun challenge to everyone, including the instructor.
It appears relatively easy for an instructor to stay out of any conflicts of interest in reference to school guidelines, however to maintain the credibility of the individual's classes, there are separate conflicts of interest to avoid. As in favoritism, teaching family members, and so forth.

It would be helpful if there were a meeting every term for instructors of the same subject to discuss the path of the courses, as in, they way they lead to the next course. How the functionality of EN101 can better prepare a student for EN102, and so forth.
Those interactions are always limited, but I find it best to appear congenial and to invite them to listen in if they so choose.
Understanding the rules and regulations in reference to dealing with prospective students is very important, but would you consider knowing who to direct the more difficult questions to almost as important?
Thanks for the advice.

I tend to pace in front of my class while I lecture, what is a better way to use that energy?
