Sarah, I think this is the best service, and one of the unique components of a private post-secondary school. Being small really allows us to provide our students with one-on-one assistance in these very important areas. I've seen student services literally change the direction of a student's life before. Good to know your organization values this. Donna Guisado
johnny, It is also acceptable to refer them to salary information provided on external websites, such as information provided on the Bureau of Labor Statistics website. Donna Guisado
Sarah, Excellent point, and very interesting that prospective students are asking that question! I think the students we are seeing now are far more savvy about what is going on in the world of work than in the past. I love that you know we simply cannot guarantee them a job. That's not something that is guaranteed to anyone, really. But knowing that you have your coordinator to refer them to is another great example of team support. Donna Guisado
Kimberly, It sounds like your organization is really providing you with a constant and solid process for staying updated! Support from your management team is vital in your role. Along with your obvious desire to reach out and receive training, and other information, I think you are going to continue to be great at your job! Donna Guisado
johnny, Have a good team surrounding you is the best. There is nothing better than having your peers keep you in check for what is best! Donna Guisado

Lore, Great question. The School Performance Fact Sheets (SPFS) really must be signed and dated by the institution and the student before the enrollment agreement is completed. It would be best to give these all signed to the students prior to them starting the class. The way you explain this in your post it sounds like the director is not signing them until the enrollment is completed. That is not what the regulation states. I know it can be really tough to nail down a director to sign everything right at any given moment, so if they can sign them… >>>

Pegah, You would be amazed at all of the behind the scenes things that go on to make sure a school stays in compliance. It is so important for you to understand that there is truly a reason for every thing a school does; what's in its catalog, what's on the website, the enrollment agreement, advertising, even down to what we actually say to students. Not only does your school have to answer to it's own managers, they must answer to federal regulations, state regulations, national and or regional accreditation, and even programmatic accreditation in some cases. There are many,… >>>

Dan, An organization that provides continual training to admissions is a smart one, especially in this regulatory climate. Being a part of an organization such as Career College Admissions Professionals will also help to keep you in constant contact with updates, changes, networking opportunities that will affect your career and even your day to day job functions. This is really good stuff! Donna Guisado
Dan, Very important questions Dan. This can definitely help you to guide them in the right direction, not necessarily "sell" them on a program. From an academic standpoint, they are far likelier to succeed and finish the program if you take the approach you are. Donna Guisado
Sarah, Then definitely do that! You have to know what works best for you most certainly. I too, think it is often easier to flip a binder open and highlight a page than to scroll and read through a screen. Call me "old school", but if it works, why not? Donna Guisado
