Walt, Nice point about the use of the Project Charter to keep people focused. What have you been helpful in creating a project charter that captures the entire project? Dr. Eric Goodman
Timothy, Thanks for the follow up and great point about human nature wanting to add other items. You are right about it being your job to really guide your team. Best wishes on your next project! Dr. Eric Goodman
Timothy, Thanks for the thorough response and I appreciate your points about defining and organizing. You mention that without clear objectives a project may encounter scope creep and I like the example you gave. At the same time do you think having a clear objective is enough to avoid scope creep? Dr. Eric Goodman
William, Excellent point about the importance of defining and organizing the project. I'm curious what you mean by a destruction mode within the groups? Could you please elaborate on that and is defining and organizing likely to prevent that? Dr. Eric Goodman

Bill, Thanks for the reply and great points about fixing the issues with the furthest reaching results! And as you suggest sometimes there may be what I like to think of as "low hanging fruit" that are easily fixed that can have immediate results. Those are a great opportunity to build momentum. Best wishes! Dr. Eric Goodman

Hi Pamela, I appreciate your follow up and you're exactly right. It is almost like that pilot flying a plane...you have to know your destination! Best wishes as you apply what you've learned at work! Dr. Eric Goodman
Hi Pamela, Very interesting! This is certainly a critical aspect to any project in order to self-correct as you mentioned. I'm wondering though if you think this is more important than identifying what you are moving towards? Dr. Eric Goodman
Thanks Camille for the excellent points about the importance of defining and organizing. In addition to this, how do you manage scope creep?
Pamela, Great point about the importance of communication and the key is recognizing as you have how critical this is during the execution phase. If you had to focus on ensuring the communication in a particular part of a project, what phase would you focus on? Dr. Eric Goodman
