Hector, Great advice. You really can't go wrong by getting yourself out there wherever and whenever you can. Elizabeth Kemler
Hector, That's great. it always helps the students to hear from people who are working in the field. Elizabeth Kemler
Ralph, How strange! So sorry that happened. I don't do anything on the technical end but will send your message to my tech contact and see if he can help. Elizabeth Kemler
Ralph, You are so right. And this really is the hard part..but of course, this is what determines how far you go in your career, and how fulfilled you ultimately are in your job. Elizabeth Kemler
Ralph, You are so right about younger students not getting the importance of professionalism..definitely a generational gap there! Sounds like we're doing a lot of the same kind of work. I also have some (slightly) comedic videos on interviews that do & do not work-one highlighting presentation skills, the other highlighting wording. If you're curious, you can see them on my website under Resources for Book 3 at tblsuccess.com. Is there somewhere I could have a look at yours as well? Elizabeth Kemler
David, The job search can be pretty daunting when you don't have much experience but it sounds like you're well positioned to give them the preparation and confidence they need. Elizabeth Kemler
Susan, The language barrier must really be terrifying; they need to give themselves time to learn and permission to make mistakes (both are easier said than done, I know). Elizabeth Kemler
David, You are absolutely right about this; the Wall St Journal, NY Times and innumerable other news sources have reported on this very thing-communication skills surpass all others in the eyes of employers. Elizabeth Kemler
Susan, You described the importance of these skills perfectly-I'm afraid there's nothing more to add! Elizabeth Kemler
Susan, Your school sounds so supportive-if only they were all this attentive! Elizabeth Kemler
