I think it is important to understand both synchronous and asynchronous methods and decide which will work better for a particular course.  Organization and communication is essential for either method to be effective for the students.

I learned that there are many options for technology tools and that they can be used in different ways to work with th student's learning style.  I will definitley research more options.

I believe that the online learning environment make the student more accountable for completing assignments.   I also think the discussion boards help certain students to participate more than they might in a classroom setting.  I will be sure to closely monitor all postings and encourage those who might not get as involved as others.
