Tammy, After working with behavior problem students in special education I realized the best policy is to remain calm and remove the issue away from the other students. The same is true for adults. If your emotion raises so does the person you are talking with. Dr. Gary Carlson

Crisis management varies definitely with the geographical area you may live. Being proactive with the potential issues is the best first step. Usually the best plans are those that resemble each other. First and foremost is taking care of the people to keep them out of harms way.

Stacey, Being able to communicate quickly and effectively is the difference of saving lives and avoiding a greater catastrophe. Usually the difference in a good crisis plan vs. a bad one is the ability to communicate effectively in the time of the crisis. Dr. Gary Carlson
Jessica, This is a good practice especially when you become overwhelmed with duties and task. It is rewarding to see your challenges be accomplished as you check them off. Dr. Gary Carlson
Jessica, It is helpful if you have someone you can talk with about your situations. Just talking it out sometimes solves the issue or gives you some ideas on how to resolve the problem. Dr. Gary Carlson
Susan, I agree with you. We should never have a meeting for a meeting sake. Both you as a leader and your people may want to place items on an agenda. When the items are necessary for discussion a meeting should be held. When we meet just to meet the meaningfulness of the meeting diminishes. Dr. Gary Carlson
Paula , You have taken measures to complete the task at hand. Your cognizance of the situation helps you deal with the information and communication. Dr. Gary Carlson
Alex, Our lives are full of learning experiences. Your ability to benefit from your learning experiences helps you adapt to future experiences. This why people begin to see you as a leader with wisdom. Stress can be reduced by your wisdom of dealing with the challenges in front of you.
