Support and the ability to step back seems to always give us a better perspective on issues and making good decisions. Your ability to recognize the times when you need to do this will be important to keep your sanity in tough situations.
There is good stress and bad. The stress that invigorates us in a good way motivates and challenges. Stress that causes depreciation and emotional backlash can be harmful. Knowing techniques to combat bad stress is the key.
I applaud your optimistic view. This attitude will definitely motivate people to achieve their goals.
Comfort will come with time. Your opinion and others is important. Not everyone needs to totally agree but it does prepare you for implementing any new innovation into the scheme of change.
Preparation is extremely important. Along with your agenda the goal of the meeting should be communicated. This gives a road with a curb to keep everyone on track.
Through my life I have had similar thoughts about running meetings when I was younger. But! I would tell you should not worry. What is important is that you become a great facilitator of the meeting. Running a meeting is a skill. Each meeting should specific goals and expectations. It is a must to communicate these to the participants and lead them to this outcome.
I look at small meetings with the expectation of having more interaction. When you have the privilege to work with a few employees it is a great time to transfer ownership of the projects and goals in hand. My approach is two fold. One is to communicate my agenda and two is to listen to advise from my employees.

Having outside interest is a good thing for mental relaxation. Each of us has activity that we enjoy and when we resort to it we bring down the emotion of bad stress.
This is like take an aspirin and call me in the morning. I hope it has a long lasting affect.
