About me

Activity

This is the 4th class I have tanken and must admit that ED 104 is the most applicatable. Keep up the good work.

One thing I learned early in my teaching career is that I don’t want to have the students look upon me as a buddy or a friend. I keep my relationship with my students on a professional level at all times.

The most disruptive part of teaching is the student that comes in late or return late from a break. I talk to the students in private and advise them that this type of conduct in the work force will cause several actions to occur. 1st time you will be written up, 2nd time you will be placed on non pay for a certain amount of time, and the 3rd time you will be fired. I also stress the fact that numerous others in the workforce are waiting for your job. Like everything in life this method only works part of… >>>

Great material I can immediately use in class, Thanks

I found the iImportance of learning styles interesting. It caused me to realize that now I can hopefully reach all of my students, and in turn improve my ability to be a more effective teacher.

One test question I strongly disagree with, regarded a student
griping. I strongly feel these incidents should be addressed immediately by administrators;
otherwise, the “grape vine” will make this an issue that will not go away
anytime soon, and could leave the institution with a black eye.

I am extremely enthused about my career field and constantly convey this attitude to my students. I continue to stress the importance of being on time, completing assignments and then giving examples of how these values apply to the work force. Number one on my list of things to do on a daily basis to keep my students motivated. I have a positive attitude, present a professional appearance, vary my teaching style and constantly use myself and others n the field as examples of what motivation can do for their career.

great material, something I can use on a daily basis. Thank you!

I have found that the sooner I begin to plan for an upcoming class the more relaxed and enthusiastic I am. I look forward to applying new techniques that I have observed from other instructors. One is never too old to learn new methods and then apply them effectively. There is not one day that goes by that I do not learn something new. I particularly like the section on the syllabus. What great and applicable ideas.
