It's very true that each generation has something to offer if we give them the opportunity to effectively express their ideas. Understanding the generational styles allows us to better address the challenges when they come up and it sounds like you are ready and willing to do that. Best of luck with your new awareness and opportunity.
That's great Corin! When we can be flexible in our communication style we have the ability to connect with more individuals. Let us know how your new skills work out for you.
It's interesting how we may pick up traits from other generations. How do you think knowing this will help you in cross-generational communication?
That's a great idea Cindi. We can get caught up in our day-to-day back and forth of business that we often forget that a pleasant good morning or afternoon can make a difference. Thank you for your post.

It sounds like a great plan. What other tips and tricks can others offer when you don't have a finisher on your team?

You bring up a great point Roberta. It can be easy to get stuck in our standard approach and the overlapping of styles can help to provide different perspectives. Thank you for your insight.
Technology changes every day with our without us and when we take the initiative to stay as current as possible we increase the chance of connecting with the millennial generation. How does your institution maximize the use of social media?

Growth of an organization has an interesting impact on the staff and as you mention, we may need to make a greater effort to connect with our new larger team. Staff meetings can be a great opportunity to connect. What can you personally do to connect with team members outside of staff meetings?
It makes sense because your student population is going to consist of more Millennials as time goes on. Be sure to check with your management and/or marketing team before using text messages because there are specific guidelines for texting that need to considered. Good luck enrolling more Millennials Wendy!
