About me

Activity

I frequently give open book or open teacher exams. I start discussions that carry throughout the class on given topics these are a little difficult to control because they can vere off onto other topics and must be steered in the right direction. However I have found that the class is more receptive to rote memory during open discussion.
What works well for one student may not work well for another. so I tend to try to explain each subject from different aproaches so that I can encompass more of the learning styles of my students.
I am a high energy instructor with a passion for my feild so I use alot of personal experience to make what ime teaching relevant to the career field. I use the white board alot and some powerpoint. I plan on emplimenting multicoler notes to go along with class. any thoughts?
A good instructor is prepared for class beforehand and is neat and organized. A great instructor is always prepared because he or she is always thinking about there class. what I can do to help my students succeed. and a passion for the field I teach.

I am so glad I took this course. It let me know that I was doing things correctly instinctualy. My first class I made the mistake of telling my students that this was my first time instructing; but I followed up with how much experience I have in the field and how I would incorperate a fresh view of the professional aspect of there chosen career. I also laughed and told them that I would have to relearn some of the information again along with them. My students were wonderful, all graduated, and all thought I was a great instructor.… >>>

Managing student behavior is fairly easy if you first set the boundries between instructor and student. Let your presence be known and let the students know what is expected of them day number one then managing behavior is a simple task.
I am a high energy instructor that works out in the field as well. the few challenging students that I've had I was able to bring them arround with showing relivence of what they are learning to what they are going to need in the field.I have a few talkers in my class now so durring discussions I call on students for input to spread out the interaction.
I really learned allot from this course. I am an instructor and never knew how huge the responsiblity is for our Admissions team and how easy it would be to step over that line to increase enrollments...

even with our experience, qualifications, training and license's, we still need anan open mind and heart to support a lot of our students. Nothing means more to me than to have a graduate stop in and thank me for being there for them.
Small class sizes might be a good thing, it can also less students for group activitys. I see a type of contradiction here. Small may not mean small. There is also a maximum size of a class that can come into play, too many could lead to less student instructor interaction
