While the role of technology has expanded our horizons in education, we still need to be aware of how we communicate. Text communications do not allows to see nonverbal cues. Instructors need to use video communication to have effective communication. 

I was amazed that online learning was created in the 60's. Also, how the perception of online vs F2F students is irrelevant. i do agree that it is not the school or format that counts but the qualifications and experience of the applicant.

Student retention is extremely important in my opinion. Without the students there would not be instructors. Thus, creating a meaningful professional relationship with the student is imperative, and will ensure that students will feel supported if needed. If you can recall your own school experiences as a student and can associate how faculty and administrators treated you, what were you best interactions? 

Having strategies to engage students in meaningful learning is important to studen success. Adding an introductory video or email can show Students that they are not a number in a classroom. By providing students with contact information and office hours, students know when to reach out when they need help. Also, by having discussions students can gage other students as resources.

Transferring from F2F to online needs to be done in a clear and consistent manner. Instructors need to understand the barriers students may encounter and should be aware of strategies to ensure studen success. Having a welcome messag/greating can reduce students feelings of isolation in an online environment.  I will ensure to frontload content weekly and use some of the strat learned to help my students.

Giving and getting feedback is important not only for student success but the course as well. Ensuring the students are heard and have an outlet for communication imperative to success.

I learned that regardless of which type of settings it's used, organization and communication are key for student success. Students need to have all the information available and accessible in a clear manner. Instructors need to ensure office hours and expectations are clear. This will ensure instruc and students are on the right page and reduce student frustration thus enhancing learning.

Having the proper tools an knowing how to use it properly and in the corr settings is important for student learning. Instructors should be aware of barriers to techn tools such as cost or access and learning styles to ensure students are benefiting from them. 

It is important to get multiple evaluating sources to ensure proper learning. Having peer and student review helps educators to continually inpro their courses in closing the loop.

I learned that creating a dynamic syllabus will help students have access to relevant information. Having information in an interactive live form, aids students to decrease time finding important information and decreases frustration. Scaffolding is important becau it bui on students prior knowledge and helps with creating a learning foundation.
