About me

Antoine Lewis currently serves as the Family and Student Support Liaison for Hoosier Academies in Indianapolis, IN providing a range of services to parents and faculty (K-8). 2013 - 2014 he was the Academic Advisor for Indiana Wesleyan University. He is also a part-time faculty member and consultant at various institutions and has been tutoring and teaching at the collegiate level for various institutions since 2003, specializing in courses related to business, education and information systems. Prior to this, Antoine was a Student Affairs Specialist at Harrison College and an Academic Coordinator for ITT Technical Institute. Overall he has an extensive background in student affairs, academic advising and online facilitation.

Antoine's passion to help students with their education started while at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), while advising and mentoring student-athletes. Throughout the years, he has provided training to staff and management in regards to database usage and learning management systems to track student progress. He believes in expanding ones knowledge and improving a student’s life, long-term.

Zelda, Distance learning can employ almost any learning style discussed. Much of the power of learning via the internet lies in taking into account the varied learning styles of students and providing learners such as those that do best as a self-directed, and visual online learner. Antoine Lewis

zedeva, Medical simulation mannequins are great, and are widely used in medical field. In my first aid course while in undergraduate school it was used to demonstrate methods of giving CPR. Antoine Lewis

titilola, I agree a dropbox would be a good to have and try as it is often free and convenient. In my opinion the best tool the dropbox offers is that if you have multiple computers you can still work on a document that you started working on at the "other" computer. Antoine Lewis

Edward , Your experience is often more valuable than they technology itself in the classroom. Technology is great but we often rely on it more than we should as we forget how to utilize other teaching methods. Good luck adjusting to using a PC. Jim, I like the fact that MyMathLab gives instant feedback to students and tells them which questions were right and wrong. I do agree that ethically you have to worry about dishonesty taking place when taking exams away from the classroom Antoine Lewis

Karen, MS Office 2010 is a course that needs to be offered more often in my opinion. An LCD projector is indeed a useful tool for the classroom. This type of projector gets even those reluctant learners involved with the lesson. Antoine Lewis
