Telicia, I love that you say they would "enjoy". There is nothing wrong with having fun when you are learning. You do have to weigh your technology decision by it complexity and its value to learning. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Stephanie, Does your institution require students to work through a technology tutorial? How do your remediate students who don't have those skills. The lack of those skills can be such a barrier to online learning. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson

Stephanie, Many online instructors are told what to use but need to develop those skills well. I agree many times a simple synchronous meeting can help clear any problems. sometimes it is hard to explain that to students. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Stephanie, Again, you make the great point about modeling actions you expect your students to do. Providing examples and modeling are keys to your students success. Nice post! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Stephanie, What a commitment you make to your students. You do need to model the skills and actions you want your students to exhibit. They need to know how to use those tools. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Sarah, Great post! I actually was talking about this with my husband. He was talking with a physics professor who teaches physics online. The online student gets a "lab in a box". It has everything they need to perform the experiments. They use videos and other types of tutorials to guide the experiences. Where there is a will there is a way! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Sarah, You are so right. Can you imagine being a student and never taking an online course, logging onto the LMS? That would be so overwhelming. It is the instructor that becomes the guide to help the student find their learning "groove". Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Sarah, You are right; you do have to make changes based on the learners and how they interact or not interact with the content. With resources you may even have multiple ways of addressing the same content. That is something technology can provide. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Sarah, This is a great post. You really have to try tools that fit your learners, your content and you. Kudos to you for finding the tool(s) that best serves the learning of your students. You keep the student in the forefront. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
