There are many methods that we can implement for active learning. Active learning is beneficial  to all learners and is student centered.

Being annonymous with discussion boards was a question that I had that is now clear. Many instructors like to record slectures with student particiation, and it is good to know that before posting on you tube,students need to sign consemts.

I always wondered how they handled students who worked in the offices. I have learned they are not allowed to access their own records.

I have learned that in order to ensure that only the required information is being released, the school officials have forms that they fill out to send the information.

Student information should be treated as we treat patient information. Keep it private.

Being new to a campus can be challenging. Ihave learned how to introduce myself, and let students know that I am an experienced educator, with lots of years of experience. Instead of just saying to them that I havenever taught.

When disruption of the other students becomes apparent, then it is time for the disruptive student to go. Yes it is hard but sometimes instructors have totake that action.

It made me understand why the younger students can be inattentive.This is something that I have noticed. Also I have learned how to control the overactive studnets.

Shelly, I like your idea of ice breaker. I usually ask fun questions to studnets like their favorite holiday and why, or who their role model is. I plan on using your idea with my next class especially if it is a new cohort.

using my own real life workexperiences can help in student engagement. Providing  prompt feedback is also important so that the students can be motivated and make corrections where necessary.
