In order to promote enthusiasm in learning, the instructor must also have a sense of enthusiasm. This will help to guide students in the direction for successful learning and help to promote the retention of students.  

It is very important to know and learn your students. This will allow you to facilitate instruction in a much better manner. 

I learned that teaching is an interactive process; get to learn the students, circulate the classroom, and ensure that you build rapport with your students. 

From this module, I took away the complete process when first meeting with the class. As thorough as it may be, it is imperative that students are well aware of the expectations of the class. These expectations aren't merely based on the instructor expectations, but on the complete expectations of the course. This will assist students in their understanding and this will leave less room confusion. 

This module provided valuable information related to how to plan and prepare for instruction. The takeaway for me from this module is the utilization of peer feedback with course materials. This could be a valuable tool to ensure that there are not any pieces missed in the course materials prior to relaying the information to students.  

What I took from this module is that there are several key components to being an effective instructor. It was great to see the videos from Harvard and something that stood out was that it is ok to admit your mistakes; do not go into the classroom as a "know it all." This is something that I have stood for as an instructor-having a humble spirit and admitting to students if there is a mistake.
