Adding a little biograph about the instructor let the student know of who the instructor is and by doing the same with the student, the class becomes a community and students could relate to each other interest/goals.
Being prepare and familiarize yourself with the course material will make the class run effectively. It will prevent frustration with students when they have questions or need help due to technical issues. Being prepare will show student that you care.
I agree with this statement, to be a good lecturer you need to be a scholar, writer, producer, comedian, entertainer, and instructor. The biggest factor in delivering effective lectures is to practice, practice, and practice.
To be friendly have a smile on your face, greet your students. Remember your students names. What I do is I call my new students names at least 3 times through out the day to remember their names. By remembering a student name it make the student feel value.
Be prepare, review the syllabus/objectives. Have a check list to prevent from missing any items. I believe I will start to practice this good point to prevent from forgetting any items.
Lead by example, be a great role model. Students are always watching us and want to be us, therefor practice and deliver the 5-Cs be credible, candid, be compassionate, committed and be clear to get a productive students.
