About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Chuck, It takes an entire school to work retention. Retention is a constant battle, but it is definitely worth it to help our students become success stories. Patricia Scales
Hi Bruce, Yes, professionalism definitely starts with the instructor. Students watch our every move. As an instructor, we have to always be on our "A" game. Patricia Scales
Hi Cenek, Sitting on the corner of the inattentive student desk is surely a way to get the student to pay attention. I like standing right beside the inattentive student to get the student to pay attention. Patricia Scales
Hi Robert, The syllabus is definitely the document to ensure clarity of the course. Students always have a hard copy to refer to with having a syllabus. Patricia Scales
Hi Russell, What a great way to help students see the relevancy of the course. When dealing with people, you certainly need to know how to speak. Patricia Scales
Hi Carlos, This is great! Students get to see things that will be going on in the real world. Awesome exercise to get students to think critically. Patricia Scales
Hi Cenek, Students have better clarity when they see a visual. They know exactly what is expected of them. Patricia Scales
Hi Bruce, Fantastic job with making sure course requirements are clear. Your students know exactly what is required of them, and they know the point system. Patricia Scales
