It's very important to relay the right message! Communication is key! And be succint and followup...

It is important to get to know your local govt. structure and players and advocate appropriately for CTE.

As CTE instructors, they are stewards of federal tax dollars. It is imperative that all staff (whether support or primary) that work with CTE understand the general rules and regulations surrounding accountability measures with Perkins.

Perkins funds must be spent following all the guidelines and allocability questions.

The rules presented definately support the goals of Perkins by allowing schools to use funds to improve and enhance programs in CTE for students.

No, I was not surprised by this information.

Creating space for teachers and staff to connect is most beneficial. This time allows for collaboration that can lead to projects and programs working together and allowing students to engage as well.

My schools have a long way to go in terms of collaboration with CTE and core. There is some effort being made, but there is still a lot of 'siloing' and folks working alone. We could beneift the student learning and engagement by working more together!

Our core team takes great pride in strong relationships and trust with each other. We spend time at work and outside of work hours to get to know each other and collaborate when possible. We could certainly do better and understanding each other's strengths and capitalizing on those when working on projects.

Integrating core academics into CTE coursework makes sense! It gives relevance to the math/science/LA and also builds the rigor of the curriculum being taught in the programs.
