About me

I have a passion for education and especially for ensuring that all of us continue to apply what we have learned.  I am excited about the opportunity that the Lounge provides for all of us to discuss how we are applying what we have learned & to share those great ideas.

I have had a varied background from secondary education to corporate training & now working in the career college sector.  But while I have moved in different circles it has always been surrounding my passion of education.  I look forward to our conversations.

Alexcia, so true. I tutored a young lady when I was in college in our western civ history class. I turned the facts into stories & her grades greatly improved & she said it was because she could remember stories but not stale facts & dates. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Judy, yes, while we may feel like we are entertaining them too much, the reality is we need to keep their attention so they can learn. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Alan, you have some great ideas & I think you are on to something regarding the importance of movies & the role they play in our society today. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Alan, I think this is great & the kind of creative thinking we need to embrace & incorporate. I think you could also connect a critique of the information/data mined with this activity. Who came up with the most reliable/accurate info, how far did you dig, or did you just take the top 2 search results, etc. Thanks for sharing. Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
