Brandon, Both organizations come with fantastic perks and are very well respected for supporting working musicians. Thanks for sharing! Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Lisa, You bring up a great point- every few months a new "it" form of communication seems to pop up. TED.com and Slideshare are both fantastic resources. For those not familiar with TedEd, please follow this link: http://ed.ted.com/ Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Nicole, You bring up a great point. It is important to create a comfortable environment for your students so perhaps infusing PowerPoints into your lecture, videos, "clickers", and other non-threatening tech-based learning tools would be best for your learning environment. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Kirsten, "Clickers" are a lot of fun and can be a great learning experience. Tech gadgets such as this keep class time interactive and promotes conversation among learners. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Louise, That is fantastic! I agree a page such as this strengthens the bond faculty members share. Thank you very much for sharing. Yours in learning, Theresa Schmitt
Jeffrey, I find great success when assigning PowerPoints as well. Through trial and error I have designed very detailed project outlines to ensure the presentation demonstrates the student understands the material. Yours in learning, Theresa Schmitt
Scott, You have this technology in the classroom thing down! Thank you very much for sharing and inspiring others to incorporate some of these tools into their curriculum. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Bethanne, Fantastic! That sounds like a great idea. Consider pulling together a team of your students and peers to assist with this endeavor. It could be a resource for multiple classes and a learning tool for years to come. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Darla, I would ask your Chair or the Dean/Director of Education to see if reimbursement is an option at your institution. Most schools require evidence of several documented professional development activities throughout the year and membership in an organization may be an acceptable form of professional development and eligible for reimbursement. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Kleva, I agree completely. I find when faculty share resources the overall curriculum is structured in such a way that there is consistency between course sections and there is just the right amount of overlap in material covered in courses taken sequentially. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
