dawanna, I agree. I also encourage students to challenge theories that are discussed within class, as long as they are able to properly support their opinions. This enables them to "apply" their knowledge and engage in class. Tremayne Simpson

Rebecca, Excellent question. This is an ongoing issue for both newer and veteran instructors. I think that it is best to plan your lecture, with additional "room" for student discussion. Also, you should prioritize the daily concepts (based on the learning objectives) and begin with the more important topics, followed by additional supporting details. With this method, you can simply add the additional topics to the student portal or assign them as a homework review. Class discussion boards are important, because the instructor can continue the discussion outside of class time. Tremayne Simpson
