Keeping Students On Track

I do my best to keep grades as up to date as possible at all times. What other ways do you have for keeping students on track?

Bobbi Bricker

Hi Shannon:
Great. I think frequent (daily if possible) communication with each student is important. Teachers may have to work at devising a way to connect, relate, and communicate regularly with their students if they expect to gain respect and have their students pay attention to lesssons, as well as advice we give. Each "touch" can create a more meaningful relationship that can positively contribute to students being successful.

I am on top of the grading as well. I also remind them weekly via email whats due.

Hi Bobbi:
A lot of institutions use electronic grading so all information is instantaneously updated and available for viewing by students.

If you don't have electronic means, frequent visiting with students is very important - to share grade information, but we use that time to also encourage, advise, make suggestions, and portray a caring attitude. Students will apreciate that.
