Test

I find that a lot of students really just hate taking tests? Can you conduct a class without them?

Hi Kamen:
For me, tests simply measure to what degree the student met or failed to meet key course objective and student learning outcomes.

Hi Jennifer:
Tests measure progress. Socrates could probably not test, but in todays world, we need objective data for proof.

Well, my personal opinion is, we cannot go around tests in our educational system. Tests are not comprehensive and do not measure knowledge accurately, but they are fair. Students are basically scoring themselves. Human beings are biased. I have never seen totally objective person in my life, simply because it is not possible, and for this simple reason even the most experienced professor will always be subjective to some extent. Let alone, many courses require passing a board exam upon completion, and these exams are just multiple choice tests and we have to try to prepare our students for the endeavor.
