Testing Students
Students like taking short straight forward tests, thus allowing the instructor to see whether they get the information or do not.

I agree our purpose in testing should be to assess the level of understanding the material, fairly, accurately, and objectively. There is no purpose in trying to be clever or excessive in our testing. It's awful when some students feel their instructor is trying to be tricky.
