testing

I have found testing should be done in a quite area and a review should be done before the test.

Jane,
I think any way that we can reduce distractions during testing is helpful, as usually there is already enough angst and stress associated with the testing process. Allowing ample time reduces stress, but I believe there needs to be a set end time for testing.

I agree 100%, a place where they will not be distracted and can concentrate without interruption and not time constraints. This has worked for me with my students.

ROY,
I review, using a fairly comprehensive study guide that puts emphasis on what is minimally essential to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in order to achieve a passing grade. This also a time provide sample questions. After the test, I immediately review each question so if any typo's occur, challenges to which is "most correct", or just poorly written or unclear questions can be debated. I'm willing entertain challenges if the student can prove my error or justify their position. I think that is part of being fair.
