Being Prepared everyday for class

We have to be prepared for our students everyday. No matter how our day is going we cannot let it effect our teaching. Students expect there Teacher/Instructor to come to class prepared to teach them the subjuct at hand.

i agree. you get ahead start before the class starts recalling the things you will be covering in class, getting your demos set up or get the tools that you will need, it keeps the class flowing instead of stoping and trying to find something.

Hi Beth:

The problem with consistent disorganization from an instructor is the potential loss of credibility with the students, and the message it may send, which is “I’m not concerned enough about your learning to be organized for you”.

I like to make it a point to arrive early everyday and go over the days material before the class begins as a refresher for myself.

I completely agree. Not only do I feel more confident, but I'm sure my students also feel more confident in me as an instructor. We are always teaching professionalism - so I have to go with the old saying of - "practice what you preach".

I couldn't agree more, and be prepared for every question or scenario that would go along with that class. I have found through experience that sometimes unexpected things come up, especially computer problems. A backup plan is always good.

great point! I've noticed that when I'm fully prepared, I have much more confidence in my teaching and the class goes much better.
