Organization

Organizing the lectures and preparing for class allows me to managed time class for efficiently as well as teach the information to the students in a way that is easily for them to understand.

Candace,
I suppose it depends on what "things" are falling apart. One simple way I track papers is to take a colored sheet of 8.5 X 11 inch paper, folded in half with the current days date on it, and have it serve as a temporary folder. All activity pertaining to that day is contained therein. I stick to the syllabus, and the daily lesson activities on the board. I arrive early to prepare class, and take time after to organize materials (into my "folder"), and put away stuff I've used for class. Pretty much, being organized is following a pattern, day after day.

I find I am very organized in the beginning of the course and things sometimes fall apart in the middle. How do I keep this from happening?

Algevis,
Great. Breaking multiple ideas down into digestible bites helps students learn as well as keeps them interested in the topic.
