Making Field Trips and Guest Speakers a part of my teaching
I've made field trips and used Guest Speakers to talk with my class. Due to my subject matter, Political Science, my Guest Speakers add a lot to my lectures and cement many of my points and give first hand current information, that the text lack. With the rapidly changing world of Politics,Guest Speakers provide the latest laws, rules, and procedures that impact the political arena.
I teach a graphic design course called Environmental Design. Using a carefully chosen retail environment, I ask my students to create a kiosk for a particular franchise and apply their branding to it and other visual media within the complex.

Excellent. When students can enjoy an immediate practical application of terminology, principles, practices, and case studies, they're bound to retain more meaning and understanding. Live speakers, knowledgeable in the subject matter should make for interesting classes.
