Power Points
I have found when using my power point for my classroom the students get the point you are trying to get them to understand. You can draw allday on the white board, But show a power point and watch the bulbs come on.
Hi Susan:
The nice thing about PPT is you can insert a new slide with added or newer information, while deleting older or no longer relevant information. I think good PPT's provide summarized bullets of essential information that can be the basis for further, more complete information.

Because I teach online and have 2 weekly 'chats' with my students, I use PPT's for almost every presentation. They are very helpful -- both for the students and for me, as they prompt me to remember more info to share. The most important thing though, is to keep them up-to-date and current. Since I teach healthcare classes, currently, there are big changes (and topics for discussion)almost every day.
PPT's are easy to update and modify so that helps me keep things current.
Hi Kenji:
PPT can be a powerful visual aird in the classroom when propperly formatted and information is presented in an interesting and useful manner.

Hi Gary:
Good PPT's can have an brilliant effect if they're done well. Not all are. Even some professional slides can be lacking a key point you want emphasized. It really takes time and effort to use just the right words, format and effects for maximum benefit.
