I believe it is valuable to respond to individual student needs while maintaining consistency in scoring students performances.

I agree. All students want to hear from their teachers. It helps buid a stronger connection,and some students are very eager to want to please their teacher. Sometimes, it's not want is said but how it's said and/or the sentiment that accompanies the comment. So yes definitely, comementary is good.

Without giving a students suggestions, how will they improve? Even if a student receives a perfect score on a project, I still have tips as to different ideas they could have incorporated into their project. There is always room for growth.
