Hands-on And visual
I know some students are more hands on and others are more visual. I try to incorporate both of theses methods in my classroom and I have a real positive outcome, But i would like to do more to the students more involved any suggestions or just stick with what im doing.
I think hands on and visual works well together for reenforcement.
Karina,
Student feedback is good, and giving some choice is beneficial too. As facilitators, our guidance directs the students in the ways that will produce skills and knowledge resulting in a prepared worker.

ask your students, works for me
Hi Kenan:
Many of today's students are very tech savvy. Others learn to do searches quickley. I think this is a great way to integrate multiple senses in the classroom setting.

Hi Anna:
Many studies show that adult learners retain more information when using hands on teaching activities. Most of us probably learn best using this method, so why not use it in the classroom!

I also think that a combination of auditory, visual, and hands on is very important for the learning process. During the hands on times in my class, I find it easier to assess where each student is in the learning process and what area of help is needed. I also have ! on ! time with each student so we get more comfortable with each other. Keep up the good work!

My classes are centered in medical learning and the students expect more hands-on then not, therefore the use of both visuals and hands-on instruction are very necessary. Interactive learning and role play thru out the course keeps the students engaged and seems to build a higher level of team work as well.

I have had great success in finding hands on exercises that deal with the course subject by doing on-line searches. The students have come to expect at least 1-2 hands on exercises per class that relate to our current topic. Your success in finding hands on activities will be dependent on the course content. Some topics lend themselves to hands on activities while others do not.
