Visual lecture learing

The object in teaching is to give students a visual of the application of the subject as it applies to there field of study.
Teaching with the use of Media enhances the lecture by showing the object that we are teaching. The use of overheads allow the student to see the actule flow, if you have them color in the area as you buildit projected on the white board. Powerpoint will show the design and add each step with each additional slide.
This method involves hands, visual, and media for teaching.

Hi Ellen:
Color is powerful and stimulates the mind, that is, thought, creativity, and imagination - all good attributes of someone wanting to learn a subject. The key though, is the wanting. Disengaged students require more agressive techniques to keep them involved.

Regards, Barry

Hi James:
In situations where there is a lab component, and time permits, I think a preview of coming attractions is a great way to illuminate what's ahead, show students what they'll be required to perform, and add a whole breadth of understanding when the lecture or reading portions of the class occur.

Regards, Barry

Visual lecture is when I take the students out to lab the first day of class and have them work on a project while I explain the differant components and functions of what and why they are doing the project. This gives the student a better understanding and helps to get them interested in what we are going to learn.
