Lesson Plan

Lesson plans can be very helpful and is a necessary part of preparing a a well sturctured course that will not only fulfil the students educational needs but also meet the standards, objectives, rationale, procedures and assessments strategies of the course and college requirements.

I definitely agree. I was once a substitute teacher and when a teacher had lesson plans, it made the class go more smoothly and me more comfortable.

Years ago I worked as a substitute teacher and found that only about 50% of the teachers were prepared for a substitute. Some had nothing available to teach from not even notes. Some were well prepared, and it made it easier to be a substitute. I found my self carrying material with me to be prepared.

I agree, a well-prepared instructor is much more effective.

Elizabeth,

I agree. If a student perceives that their instructor is "winging it", it could negatively affect credibility and student engagement with the course.

I completely agree with that. I've only had one or two occasions where I didn't have my lesson plan with me, and found it more stressful and unorganized if I'm forced to "wing it".
