I like bringing in guest speakers from other disciplines. It is great for the students to see another point of view and it helps with interdisciplinary communication and respect.
I think bringing in guest speakers helps to keep the students attention. It is good for them to see people from their field and get experience from them
The wife of one of my student's is the charge nurse at a local hospital. I had her come in to talk to my class about medical-surgical nursing and the roles and responsibilities of the medical-surgical nurse. It was a very exciting event, and my students learned a lot.
