Diagrams

I do think that sometimes diagramming a procedure helps in understanding the flow of the testing process.

The diagrams, yes indeed as far as the teaching goes I would say any levels of students like this method because it is so easy for perceive the stem of the chapter in a flash.

One has to know ones audience when using graphics and symbols. I was teaching in a 3rd world country and using a chalk board to show where each person would be in an upcoming exercise. Most of the students were unable to to visualize a circle as representing them. I had to take them all outside and physically show them there position. The students had not had much formal classroom instruction and though were quite gifted with tactile learning, they struggled visual abstract concepts.

Sure! As the old saying goes: A picture is worth a thousand words! It helps to share insights which are not easily understood just by reading them or listening to them. Many learners are more visual as well as manual. In other words, they are 'doers' in a manner of speaking.
