I agree. In addition, it is a good idea to provide the students with a little background information on the guest speaker (prior to the class session) and ask that they prepare some appropriate guest speaker questions.

Guest lecturers/speakers are a great tool - but one caution. You need to coordinate with them to insure what they talk about is relevent to the course or lesson and ideally it will have a direct correlation to the session they are speaking during.
