Good Notes

I usually mark questions in the book that I'm going to use for the next class.

Good note taking is a very important tool to become successful as a student and instructor.

Petulah,

This is an approach that I share as well. I usually recall examples from the instructors that were the most interesting to me and I try to implement some of their instructional techniques, into my course.

Tremayne Simpson

I often think back to wehen I was a student and recall saying to my self " If I was the teacher I would so this to make my class more interesting", and try to come up with a concept that is era related ( current technology being used).

Reflecting on what worked and what did not work is a way of continual growth for all instructors.
I keep a note book and some sample assignments turned in by students on the assignments that worked really well. I also do not forget to keep notes on the things that did not work even though the really bad ones are hard to forget.
I think in the future I will save some time at the end of the class for conversation with the students on what worked and what was horrible .I think we would all have a good laugh.

When I discover an activity that works well and the student enjoy I make sure to make notes to use it in future classes. Lecture notes definitely help in case I lose focus or forget what is suppose to happen next.
