Guest speakers can add value and excitement to the course is absolutely correct. i tried it and its works
I have to agree. Sometimes information from someone who is already working in the field the students are studying is very helpful. The students do seem to engage more. The become excited about what they are doing.

I agree. However, it is important to meet with the guest speaker prior to the class session, so that you can have an idea of the primary speaking points and connections with the course. Without proper planning, some guest speakers can go on tangents and lose the students within the discussion.
