Several studies have shown that students prefer strategies promoting active learning to traditional lectures. Other research studies evaluating the students achievement have demonstrated that many strategies promoting active learning are comparable to lectures in promoting the mastery of content but superior to lectures in promoting the development of students skills in thinking and writing in the group setting.

Jeff, couldn't agree more. With foreign students it is always a pleasure to teach new topics. They embrace active learning and are extremely motivated. In my experiences over 25 years, this has proven to be the best method for delivering instruction to this audience.
Hi Jeffrey,
