Hi Zinat,
The perfect combination is to have fun while learning.

I agree 100%. By incorporating "fun" class activities or discussions, opens up students who may be normally shy. It also may change the perception of the uninterested student, into finding the material fun and interesting.
David, I agree totally. My teacher who developed on his own a great body therapy always said that nobody told him he couldn't have fun doing it. I have been using humor and jokes for years, in fact I give it as a homework assignment. I find it helps draw out the shy student, draws the students together, and makes the time more fun, and I believe they learn faster. I think learning to have fun is part of why we are here.
Hi David,
I agree! All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy. Let's have fun while getting our students to learn. Make it fun for the students.

Hi David,
Great response! We have to make our students want to be in class and make them want to return for the next class meeting.

I feel that if possible "fun" should be incorperated in every we do. So why not learning. You can learn easier and with less stress in a fun environment.
In the career institute where I am an instructor, humor is one of the most important learning tools I use. If the students are sitting in hard plastic chairs for hours at a time, there has to be some sort of outside stimulus to help them stay awake and focused. I change my voice inflections, tell topic related jokes, interact with the students on some common topic and thank them for being here. It isn't easy for them and making them understand that they have made a wise decision coming to the school helps me be a great instructor. Any one can read a power point; not every one earns the respect of the student.
Hi John,
I love your combination, fun/learning. Students love to learn while having fun!
