Critical /AnalyticalThinking
In the field of radiation oncology, since radiation beams are invisible by ordinary methods and potentially harmful.I try to implement the use of critical thinking, problem-solving, computation and written/oral communication skills in my class. Visual aids in teaching are recognized as important adjuncts to proper training in my humble opinion. As Ghandi stated:
Be the CHANGE you want to see in the world.
Hi Steven,
These are great examples of critical/analytical thinking. You are right, as our students progress through college I have found that their critical/analytical thinking abilities strengthen. They are able to use better logics and reasonings.

Critical analytical thinking is a key part of university study. Many first year students receive comments such as 'not analytical enough' on their early assignments. You will find that you develop your critical and analytical skills as you go through university. In brief, this means looking very closely at the detail and not taking what you read or hear for granted. Your tutors will expect you to:
•Evaluate how far materials are appropriate, and up-to-date.
•Evaluate how far the evidence or examples used in materials really proves the point that the author claims.
•To weigh up opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria.
•To think a line of reasoning through to its logical conclusion.
•Check for hidden bias or hidden assumptions.
•Check whether the evidence and argument really support the conclusions.
Hi Damien,
Awesome! This is teaching at its best! We need to let our students know what to expect in the workforce.

I always give my student real life situations in the bakery so that they can be prepared for any situation in the real world.
Hi Thomas,
Most students get it if they can see it! Visual adds clarity!

I like the idea of having visual aids to supplement the verbal information I have to present. Many peolple have difficulty understanding a concept with only verbal information. Visual information is very helpful during my presentations.
Hi Paul,
Awesome! I can tell how your students have fun and benefit from this course all at the same time. You got me excited just from reading your respone. I am a firm believer that excitement begins with the instructor.

We actually dedicate an entire 12 week class to critical thinking. To myself, this is this most fun and exciting class I teach.
Critical thinking is reflective reasoning about beliefs and actions. It is a way of deciding whether a claim is always true, sometimes true, partly true, or false.
Hi Tony,
I have seen that some people lack in some work skills because they do not know how to think critically and analytically.
Patricia Scales
As I cover the various topics, I stress the value of these skills as it affects their ability to improve work skills. Not all resolutions are clearly visible in problem solving. One must consider variables during the thought process.
Hi William,
A nice entertaining PowerPoint presentation shared with the students on Day 1 to express the importance of the course as it relates to six other courses would be very meaningful to students to know.
Patricia Scales
my class is to give student the iformation they will need for the following next 6 courses ans some time it is difficult to conveiy the informations inportance
Hi Hugh,
Our students must be trained properly in all areas, and your implementation of the various things method is excellent. Students need to understand how to think and problem solve effectively. Most students need a lot of practice with writing/speaking as well.
