Motivation

It is import to learn Study name and greed them as they enter the class room.

Hi Lisa,
Try to help your students see your class in segments after you have given them the big picture for the course. This way they won't feel overwhelmed when something comes up in the lives and they feel they can't go on. Try to have activities that can give students success within the course. These can be small project like a group work on case studies and reporting out.

I too agree that continuing educational for instructors is important. It enhances the instructor and student's knowledge.

I agree that motivation does certainly encourage students when they've had a bad day. Unfortunately these bad days can include things that happen outside of class that can cause a distortion of the class material. I usually find that giving them a quick motivational speech on how far they have come in the face of adversity really helps them to be proud of steps taken to achieve their goals. This in turn seem to allow for a refocus of the educational requirements. Do any of you have any additional tips for management of student stress in the classroom setting?

It does make a diference when they have a bad day.

Hi Sandra,
Students of all ages and experiences still need encouragement. Your comment is a good one about encouraging them especially after they have had a failure point. This will help them to regroup and come back ready to tackle the next assignment and complete it successfully. This is based upon the fact that they know you care about them and their success. Enjoy your teaching.

i believe that a motivational remark should be made (especially) after a failed lab. by encouraging them that the next time will be better and easier eases there mind. By doing this i believe i create confidence in them by showing that i believe in there ability.

Motivaton is a realy a good stimulus to every student.Encouragement will change the moods of the student and increase the sensitivity of the understandingof the subject.

Learning as you go is a must
